Mission
The PDBA provides
an on-site alternative education program for students who have not reached their potential in a more traditional setting,
and as a result are at risk of dropping out of high school. This is not a credit recovery program. The Academy also serves
a growing number of students who are bound for post-secondary education, but due to a wide variety of personal and/or family
circumstances are unexpectedly deficient in credits. These students have the opportunity to retrieve credits in the Academy
setting while taking elective credits and then return to "regular" education classes at the end of the year with
advancement to the next grade level.
